What the amounts mean
EUR 300,000 is the same figure whichever asset is chosen, but the assets are not alike. The property must be new and bought from a developer, which excludes the resale market1. The company must be Cypriot and employ at least five people, so the investor buys into a going concern1. The fund must be a Cypriot collective investment fund1. The dataset classes the route as "property" for the filter because that is the asset most applicants use and the one the regulation names first; the company and fund options are stated in the route detail.
The income test is separate from the investment. The applicant must show a secured annual income from abroad of at least EUR 50,000, increased by EUR 15,000 for a spouse and EUR 10,000 for each dependent child1. For a couple with two children the figure is EUR 85,000 a year, and it must be evidenced.
Stay rules and renewal
The permit is permanent, on condition that the holder visits Cyprus at least once every two years1. The dataset records the requirement as "some" rather than "none" in the stay filter because a visit is a presence obligation, however light. The investment and health insurance must be evidenced each year1, so the permit is permanent in status but conditional in practice: sell the property or let the cover lapse and the basis for the permit goes with it.
Family
The spouse and dependent children may be included1. Parents are not covered, and each dependant adds to the income the applicant must show.
Citizenship position
Naturalisation in Cyprus follows long residence with physical presence and is not accelerated by the permit1. A holder who satisfies the two-yearly visit and nothing more does not accumulate the residence that naturalisation requires. The dataset records the position as "not a fast route".
Where the figures come from
The Civil Registry and Migration Department publishes the Regulation 6(2) criteria on its site, but not as one consolidated English page1. The threshold, the income test and the annual evidence rule are cross-checked against secondary statements that agree with each other, as themethodology explains.
